The Uyghur Freedom Institute strongly welcomes the U.S. decision to impose visa sanctions on Thai officials responsible for the deportation of Uyghurs to China, where they face persecution, imprisonment, and enforced disappearances. This is a critical step toward accountability for governments complicit in China’s transnational repression. We urge the international community to take further action to protect Uyghur refugees and ensure their fundamental rights are upheld.
