The Uyghur International Institute urges the Supreme Court to take decisive action by banning TikTok in the United States. TikTok has a proven record of suppressing content that highlights the plight of Uyghurs and other human rights abuses in China, while actively promoting pro-Chinese government narratives and anti-democracy propaganda.

Furthermore, TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, is known to have deep ties to the Chinese government, raising serious national security concerns about the handling of Americans’ personal data. Evidence suggests that TikTok shares user information with Beijing, compromising individual privacy and enabling potential surveillance.

For the sake of protecting democracy, ensuring human rights advocacy is not silenced, and safeguarding the security of American citizens, the Uyghur International Institute calls on the Supreme Court to ban TikTok without delay.
